VIZN YOGA, A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH

UC DAVIS

Course Fee: $40 for 3 sessions

Yogis, shamans, and scientists (Kerkule, Edison) have used dreams and visions to guide their life. Athletes use visualization techniques to better perform. The Vzn Yoga course starts with yoga fundamentals (i.e. Ashtanga/ Kundalini) and progresses to some of the most advance techniques in breathing from Kriya yoga and Qigong. Vzn Yoga introduce scientific findings in neuro-linguistics, brain waves, and primal sounds/music that transform/ balance your body¹s alkalinity and take you into the subconscious and BEYOND. Past Participants take this workshop to: 1. Take your yoga to the next level 2. Go on vision quests to solve mental or life impasses 3. Take athletic performance to the next level 4. Get high or stoned (endo-cannabinoids, runner¹s high/endorphins) See past videos: www.breathing101.info/intothezone Optional meeting: breathing techniques in nature setting - trip to Yuba State Park or Desolation wilderness.

Prerequisite: This course is not for pregnant women, pace-maker wearer, heavy smokers, epileptic, and persons with medical conditions, i.e. high blood pressure. Generally healthy condition required, i.e. able to walk and jog.

This course combines ancient techniques with modern neuro-acoustics
(mix of delta, theta, high beta brain waves, drumming & music) to induce high states and transform the body’s alkalinity. Choose your own highs and control how much. Participants have reported LSD like effects, out-of-body, time-travel, and other extraordinary experiences.

HOW?Knowing that the human cells have receptors to drugs, researchers and practioners have found that the brain makes its own marijuana (natural endo-cannabinoids compounds) and other "endo-drugs", similar to runners' high of self-induced endorphins. By recreating the runners' high without running using well known yogic breathing, the body alkaline the blood enabling the brain to produce many kinds of "endo-drugs".

HOW HIGH IS HIGH? With this process,  people can have spontaneous visions similar to lucid dreaming or with hallucigenic effects. The mind initially controls what direction to direct the HIGH, then it takes over. It's a give-and-take process. Unlike drugs, where paranoia and feelings of desperately trapped cannot be controlled, here, people can control the degree of highness, i.e. high as a buzz, or high as taking a drug like LSD.

FAQ:

1. Is this technique similar to getting into a trance with drumming?
Drumming is known to induce trance in many cultures (Native American, Greek, East Asia, and others). However the when people are moving or dancing, the blood chemistry does not akaline and does not enable the brain/body to experience alternate consciousness  that are often offered by drugs.

2. Isn't taking drugs an easier way to get high?
You will surely get high with drugs, but you will get brain damage in different degrees. It is like using a hammer to your brain. Some brains are tougher. In this method, you control your degree of high by speeding up or slowing down in the two main breathing techniques. It's a precision sport where you can control your high and get better with each practice.

2. How is the workshop structured?
In the first meeting participants learn the six different breathing techniques, the inner and outer body, blood-brain barrier, and other yoga techniques. In the 2nd and 3rd meetings, participants work in pairs (different pairs each week) for support and monitoring.

3. How often can you do this?
As often as you feel fit. Similar to althetic activities, this is is a discipline and a sport for your respiratory system. Once or twice a day is normal. I personally use a breathing technique in this workshop to fall asleep when woke up by noise.

4. Are there any scientific references.
Yes there are two main body of scientific references:
1. Brain waves research with delta, theta, beta, alpha and other brain waves.
2. Self induced brain chemicals, i.e. endorphin,
endocannabinoid, andamide, etc.

5. How is this different from Holotropic Breathing (TM) or Rebirthing?
A component of this workshop is similar to the mentioned techniques. However, the employed breathing techniques are well known techniques that are practiced for hundreds and thousands of years - yoga and qigong. For example, an employed breathing technique is "circular breathing" - where there is no pause between the inhale and exhale cycle - this is used by didgiridoos players, the Inuit throat singing. Note that runners also uses circular breathing to get as much oxygen as possible. For related breathing techniques see this directory: http://www.google.com/Top/Health/Alternative/Breathwork/

6. Can I get high using this technique by myself?
With a CD of music, drumming, and brain waves you can self direct your HIGH after some practice. The group presense is a very useful transpersonal factor (as in transpersonal psychology/therapy). The breathing techniques alone most likely send you to sleep like a baby. The use of light and sound machines can give a heighten sense of awareness, i.e. hemisync or techniques using binaural beats that create brain waves between left and right brains.

Standard Release Form (physical education/ athletic classes) will be provided at the workshop or download it here.
